Background

Where the engineering came from.

iB3 SA was established in Lugano, Switzerland, in 2014. The work behind it starts considerably earlier.

2011

The engineers who would go on to form iB3 began working with MPXLab, a non-profit research organisation in Italy, on next-generation video analytics. The collaboration continues today.

2014

iB3 SA established in Lugano. Initial focus on biometric recognition, video analytics and embedded sensing.

2014–2018

Development of the imaging and IoT product line: face recognition, video analytics, embedded sensing, and the SDKs that made them deployable in production environments. Documented under Heritage.

2023

Launch of the Synthe Suite programme and the first BDI cognitive engine.

2024–2025

Platform build-out across five verticals. Validation programme initiated against published empirical research.

2026

Validation corpus reaches eight studies and 4,800 participants. Synthe Suite in production across all five verticals.

The people behind it

The people behind iB3 have worked in machine learning, computer vision, cognitive architecture and industrial automation across university research, European research programmes and industry — in several cases for more than twenty-five years. The Synthe Suite is built by the same engineers who built the systems described on these pages.

Why the lineage matters

Four decades of work in signal processing, machine learning and agent systems sit behind these platforms. That lineage is why we are careful about the claims we make: we have spent long enough validating systems against ground truth to be precise about what a model demonstrates and what it merely suggests.
